Do you want to buy a phone? well at the iPhone Dev a team of h-a-c-k-ers managed to develope a software to unlock the iPhone 3G. It is being promised that by New Year's Eve it will be available for public download the software. And best of all, it will be free as usual. To prove all this a member of the development team published a video of the actual unlocking.

The iPhone Dev-Team have been working on a software unlocking method for iPhone 3G since Day One and they are finally ready.It should work for 3G and non 3G iPhones

The method is codenamed yellowsn0w, requires command line operation, but the Dev-Team promises a nice looking graphical user interface for unfamiliar users. Jailbreaking the iPhone first to gain access to it in the first place is the first method.

The only iPhones to benefit from the unlock, are those with baseband ver. 2.11.07 or earlier.
